Indføling eller “medføling”?

Som kropsterapeut kan man godt stå i situationer, hvor man bliver ramt. Nogle livshistorier bærer præg af svigt, sorg og overgreb. Det er den barske realitet, at nogle liv rammes af ting, ingen burde udsættes for.

Så hvordan takler man disse ting? Hvordan står man stærkt som behandler uden at tage disse historier på sine skuldre?

Jeg tror, hemmeligheden ligger i nuancen mellem indføling og “medføling”.

Indføling er én af de aller vigtigste ting, vi lærer eleverne på Totum. Uden den kommer vi ikke langt. Indføling er at kunne mærke et andet menneske. Det er at kunne mærke spændinger i kroppen, og om klienten føler sig tryg, utryg eller presset. Det er at lægge mærke til de små ting, der fortæller, hvor klienten er henne følelsesmæssigt.

Og allerede her begynder vi at bevæge os over i gråzonen mellem ind- og medfølelse. Hvordan mærker vi hvad der foregår i klienten uden at indføling bliver til medføling.

Måske skal vi lige runde “problemet” med medfølelse.

Problemet med medfølelse – i behandlingssammenhæng – er, at vi kan havne i en situation, hvor vi faktisk ikke giver kleinten, havd han/hun har brug for, fordi vi kommer til at blande vores indre ting sammen med deres.

 

Medfølelse er godt! …men…

Rigtig mange elever på Totum har rigtig gode evner for medfølelse. Og det er jo faktisk dejligt!

Jeg tror, det kommer helt naturligt at mennesker, der kan mærke andre mennesker, søger hen mod fag som vores. Så det er absolut ikke fordi medfølelse er en dårlig kvalitet at have som menneske!

Men som behandler kan der ske det, at når vi bliver medfølende, så kommer vi også til at selv at fylde i rummet, som ellers var klientens. Det rum som var klientens frirum. Bliver vi for medfølende, så kan vi også risikere at blive ramt i vores egne problemer – midt i en session. Og så kan vi faktisk stå i vejen for vores klients forløsning.

Derudover er det også vigtig for vores egen psykiske tilstand, at vi ikke komemr til at slæbe rundt på alle andres følelser, som om det var vores egne.

Indføling, derimod, er evnen til at kunne mærke hvad der foregår. Uden at tage andres smerte ind som vores egen. Og uden at vi ud fra vores egen historie beslutter, hvad der er godt for klienten.

Jeg tror, at bevidstheden om nuance-forskellen mellem indføling og medfølelse gør os i stand til at holde os selv sunde og samtidig tjene vores klienter bedre.

    But, consider this, what if you were to write a awesome title?
    I am not suggesting your information is not good, however what if
    you added something that grabbed people’s attention? I mean Kropsterapi og indføling | Totum is
    a little vanilla. You could peek at Yahoo’s home
    page and see how they create news titles to grab people to click.
    You might add a video or a related picture or two to grab readers excited about what you’ve got to say.
    In my opinion, it would bring your blog a little livelier.
