Travlhed er nærmest blevet synonymt med et arbejdsliv i Danmark, og stress er på niveau med en folkesygdom. Så meget desto mere er der god grund til at holde et pusterum, og her er meditation oplagt. Start allerede i dag med denne simple meditationsøvelse, som vi selv gør brug af her hos Totum – Skolen for Kropsterapi. 

For det meste bevæger vores tanker sig vilkårligt rundt i alle mulige forskellige retninger. Det ene øjeblik tænker vi på noget, som er hændt i vores fortid, det næste på noget, der skal ske i morgen, for så at tænke på noget, som sker lige her og nu. Bevidstheden bevæger sig fra det ene emne til det næste og påvirkes konstant af vores medmennesker, smartphone, tv, computer osv.  

Hele tiden skal vi tage stilling til forskellige impulser. Selv når vi sover, vil vi typisk have drømme, hvor hjernen forsøger at bearbejde dagens aktiviteter og spekulationer. Derfor er det sundt indimellem at søge ind i sig selv til den ro, som findes bag tankernes og følelsernes støj. Det kan du ved hjælp af meditation.

Meditation handler i al sin enkelthed om at give vores tankestrøm en pause. Hvis du formår at slippe alle dine tanker et øjeblik, vil du opleve en dyb og forløsende mental afslapning. Under meditation bringer du din krop ned i omdrejninger og befrier dit hoved for unødige tanker og bekymringer. Ved ikke at starte nye tanker, tillader du dit sind at gøre, hvad det har behov for, så det kan rydde op i dit mentale rod. 

Et frikvarter fra dagens støj 

Når vi mediterer, kan vi komme i bedre kontakt med vores indre stemme. Vi kan mærke, hvordan både vores krop og vores psyke har det, og hvordan vi har det med den retning, som vores liv bevæger sig i.

Hvis du indimellem tager dig tid til at meditere, kan du opleve, at du kommer til at sove bedre om natten, at din opmærksomhed bliver styrket i dagligdagen, at du får et bedre overblik, et styrket immunsystem, bliver mindre stresset, og at situationer, som tidligere forekom besværlige eller ulidelige, pludselig vil føles langt mere overkommelige. 

En god måde at beskrive meditation på er, at man opnår en tilstand, hvor man blot er tilstede i nuet. Den rene oplevelse af at være her og nu. Det er et slags frikvarter fra dagens støj. 

En meditationsøvelse til dig 

På Totums kropsterapeutuddannelse starter hver morgen med meditiation. Grunden til dette er at sørge for, at vi lander i vores krop og renser vores hoved, inden dagen for alvor går i gang. Det er et ritual, som vi her fra Totum på det varmeste vil anbefale alle mennesker at gøre. 

Du vil få meget mere ud af dit liv, hvis du indimellem giver dig tid til at stoppe op og meditere. Det behøver ikke være noget, der tager lang tid – det kan være svært at nå i en travl hverdag. Men bare et lille pusterum for at klare tankerne vil være utroligt gavnligt for de fleste.
